Size Guide
How to measure your Laddu Gopal for the perfect fitting poshak
Getting the right size poshak for your Laddu Gopal is essential for a beautiful shringar. An ill-fitting dress not only looks awkward but can also be difficult to drape and may slip off during the day. This guide will help you measure your Thakurji accurately and choose the perfect size every time.
Three Simple Steps
How to Measure Your Laddu Gopal
Measure the Height
Place your Laddu Gopal on a flat surface. Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure the total height from the base of the idol (where it sits) to the top of the head (excluding the mukut or crown). This is the most important measurement for poshak sizing.
Tip: Do not include the crown or any ornaments in the height measurement. Measure only the idol body.
Check the Girth
Gently wrap a soft measuring tape around the widest part of your Thakurji, usually around the belly area. This girth measurement helps ensure the poshak drapes well without being too tight or too loose. Note this number for reference.
Tip: Use a soft cloth or thread if you do not have a flexible measuring tape. Then lay the thread flat and measure with a ruler.
Match to the Size Chart
Compare your measurements to our size chart below. If your Laddu Gopal falls between two sizes, we always recommend choosing the larger size. A slightly loose poshak drapes more naturally and looks more elegant than a tight one.
Tip: Different brands may have slightly different sizing. Our chart is standardised across all Gopalji Fashion poshak.

Expert Tips
Common Sizing Mistakes to Avoid
Measuring with the mukut on
Correct approach: Always remove the crown and any head ornaments before measuring. The poshak fits the idol body, not the crowned height.
Measuring from a photo or memory
Correct approach: Always measure the physical idol. Visual estimates can be off by one or two sizes, leading to ill-fitting poshak.
Choosing a smaller size for a snug fit
Correct approach: Poshak should drape freely. A tight poshak looks unnatural and is difficult to put on and take off without damaging the fabric or the idol.
Assuming all idols of the same size number are identical
Correct approach: Even within the same numbered size, idol proportions can vary between manufacturers. Always measure your specific idol.
Forgetting to account for seated vs standing posture
Correct approach: Measure based on the idol's natural posture. A seated Laddu Gopal may need different draping compared to a standing one.
